Watching and Listening.

Lately I've watched:
  • A lot of 'Californication' episodes. (amazing)
  • A lot of 'October Road' episodes. (amazing)
  • Gone In Sixty Seconds (pretty cool!)
  • Gran Torino (genius)
  • I Love You Beth, Cooper (meh.)
  • Jennifer's Body (I like her body, the rest kind of bored me.)

And been listening to:
  • Ryan Adams - particularly his album 'Gold'
  • Bruce Springsteen (mainly on 'Youtube', him doing solo piano stuff)
  • Augustana - Boston
  • Tracey Chapman - Fast Car
  • RadioIO Acoustic (radio station through my iPhone)
  • WWOZ - a community radio station broadcasting from the French Quarter in New Orleans, truly one of the best radio stations/things in life.

How about you?

Care to share?

  1. I Love You Beth Cooper was just meh for you? That's probably the highest critical praise the movie has gotten. Myself, I'm off to watch Robert and Barbara in The Way We Were.

  2. Well, I find the girl watchable. That's about it. The comedy was really bad.

  3. Glad you liked Gran Torino, it was one of my favorites of 2008. I think I've seen it four times. This weekend, I saw Shutter Island, and absolutely loved it. Already planning to see it again next weekend.

  4. Gran Torino was fantastic. I Love You Beth Cooper was just shit.

  5. Lately I watched:

    THE COVE (effin' amazing!)
    TAKING WOODSTOCK (underwhelming)
DR. STRANGELOVE (in a neat double feature with IN THE LOOP)

And lately I've been listening to lots and lots of movie podcasts.

  6. I watched "Jennifer's Body" on a plane and wanted to throw myself off. Not even her body could save that movie.

    K, here's my roundup:

Watching: How I Met Your Mother and The 4400 (gotta balance out cheesy comedy with sci-fi)

    And the Olympics, of course.

Listening to: 500 Day of Summer soundtrack. Over and over again.

    and KCRW, of course. ;)

  7. Watching: Mr. Deeds (very funny), Grosse Point Blank (awesome), I <3 Huckabees (interesting but strange), All of Me (really great comedy) and West Wing episodes (refreshing). Regular TV shows have taken a backseat lately.

Listening: Rod Stewart-You Wear It Well, Van Morrison - Queen of the Slipstream, Alanis Morissette- Mary Jane, Jason Mraz - The Remedy, Tracy's Behind the Wall and Nickelback - If Everyone Cared (been listening to I-pod a bunch)

  8. Watching: Lost, Owning Mahowny, Loneliness of a long distance runner

    Listening: the microphones, of montreal

Gran Torino felt kind of empty and slight to me.
