"You Are Jerry Ma-fuckin'-guire" - An Assortment Of Memories From A Film I Love.

I am not letting YOU, get rid of ME - how about THAT!

I'm finished. I'm fucked. Twenty four hours ago, man, I was HOT! Now... I'm a cautionary tale. You see this jacket I'm wearing, you like it? Because I don't really need it. Because I'm cloaked in failure! I lost the number one draft picked the night before the draft! Why? Let's recap: Because a hockey player's kid made me feel like a superficial jerk. I ate two slices of bad pizza, went to bed and grew a concience!

How about a little piece of integrity in this world that is so full of greed and a lack of honorability that I don't know what to tell my son! Except, "Here. Have a look at a guy who isn't yelling 'Show me the money." Did you know he's broke? He is broke and working for you for free! Broke. Broke, broke, broke.

Help me, help you---- HELP ME, HELP YOU

Hey, I don't have all the answers. In life, to be honest, I failed as much as I have succeeded. But I love my wife. I love my life. And I wish you my kind of success.

  1. I love this movie too although it is deeply flawed. It's definatley a writer's movie and the dialogue is just a treat to listen to throughout. Your quotes make it obvious how great a writer Cameron Crowe really is and how sorely he is missed. On that same note, Cameron Crowe is a constructor of precious moments that he strings together. Sometimes they flow effortlessly into one another as was the case with Say Anything and Almost Famous and sometimes that just float around, going from one to the next as was the case with Elizabethtown and to an extent here. At 130 minutes, I think there are about 2 or 3 scenes too many of Cuba Good Jr. giving the same emotional pep talk, but again, to quote Pauline Kale, "Great movies are rarely ever perfect ones."

  2. Funny thing about this movie. A friend once posted something about how no matter what thrift shop or salvation arm you go to you will indeed find at least one copy of this movie. After reading, I visited a thrift shop and indeed found three copies! How weird!
