Hot Girls Like Crap Films. No Exceptions.

INT. SOME PLACE - SOME TIME - OFTEN
The Kid In The Front Row is chatting away to some HOT GIRL, 20's. Things are going great - they agree on most things, probably because The Kid will cave on any topic as the girl is so hot. However, one topic he cannot lie about.

KID IN THE FRONT ROW
So what movies do you like?

HOT GIRL
Anything. You?

KID

HOT GIRL

The Kid waves his hand in front of the girl's face to get her attention again.

HOT GIRL

  1. I have a similar problem; I can only like people who also hate Adam Sandler comedies. I just don't find them funny. But Spaceballs and Airplane? I die laughing.

  2. It is a distraction when someone cannot give you a good movie that they enjoyed. I don't think ALL hot girls have bad taste. It's just a lot of hot girls tend to have similar interests as hot guys - cars, money and clubbing. I think it's more like Classy girls vs. Hot girls. Classy girls, who are attractive, will have good movies in mind, whereas girls who take their shirts off to be on TV, are very likely not very deep in their thinking yet. Hmm, I don't know.. I am going on a tangent, lol

  4. It's a shame that the hot people are as infected with poor taste as the not-hot people. All present company both hot and possessing good taste, naturally.

  5. On a movie date recently: "Do you even see talkies?"

Definitely in the classy girl camp here. *grins* You'll meet her eventually.

  6. I definitely sympathize. When I mention Kurosawa as my favorite director, Jack Lemmon as my favorite actor, or Seven Samurai as my favorite movie I tend to entice many blank stares.

  7. I feel like most girls that you'd be comfortable just watching movies with at home would enjoy the Billy Wilder comedies.

  8. I have a friend who, as soon as she meets anyone, demands to know their top five films. She did this to my boyfriend, poor shy soul never saw it coming.

He sputtered out a few good movies then came to "The Princess Bride" and she practically knocked him over with glee.

    I suppose it's a good ice-breaker, eh?

PS maybe you should redefine what it means to a hot girl if they like Stephanie Meyer and Michael Bay?

  9. I realize this post is borderline pretentious, which I hate. I mean, I hate people that look down on people for liking crap films -- but at the same time, I dunno, I guess I'm just excited by the wonders of cinema and feel disappointed when people only know the latest big-marketed thing.

  10. Well, to be fair - some people just aren't indie movie people. Or even big budget but better than Transformers people. So maybe your next question could be:

"So what books do you like?"

And if she smiles brightly and says, "I like People magazine!" then excuse yourself and get the hell out of there.

  11. So, enlighten them ?!?!? its like good food, or music. You gotta taste and see. And let face it, if you don't already know much about something/anything, its pretty off putting when they quote you names of stuff that just aint popular. May be brilliant, but not common knowledge. A blank look can turn into an interested one if you only explain, and jump off the high horse...

  12. You happen to find dumb girls wearing alluring outfits sexually attractive. You have my sincerest sympathy.
